Weightlifting Club

Many of the athletes training at Peak Performance Strength and Conditioning participate in weightlifting competitions as members of Peak Performance Weightlifting Club (PPWLC). Competitions are a great way to monitor progress and they are a lot of fun! Non-weightlifting athletes find that competing in weightlifting competitions during their sport’s off season keeps them motivated, training hard, and improves sports performance. The main goal of PPWLC is to provide an effective, fun, supportive environment where athletes of all ages, levels, and abilities can come together and enjoy training. Athletes train along side each other, support each other and work toward a common goal of improving performance. To become a member you just have to show up ready to train. As you learn the techniques and feel comfortable with the weightlifting movements your teammates will encourage you to lift at local competitions, but it is not a requirement. What is required is a willingness to show up on a regular basis and train hard while being supportive and respectful to teammates and coaches.

Athletes from sports other than weightlifting training at Peak Performance Strength and Conditioning find that performance in their chosen sport quickly improves because the limiting factor in sports performance for most athletes is their ability to move quickly, explosively, and powerfully and there is no better way to improve power production than to emphasize performance of the weightlifting movements in your training program. There is no such thing as becoming too powerful!
